Give Up to Go Up 

"This is the law of the Nazirite who vows to the Lord the offering for his separation, and besides that, whatever else his hand is able to provide; according to the vow which he takes, so he must do according to the law of his separation."
Numbers 6:21

Through the vow of the Nazirite, God provided a way for both men and women to specially consecrate themselves to the Lord for a special time and purpose. Leaders such as Samson (and perhaps Samuel) made this vow, committing to abstain from wine and strong drink, to leave their hair uncut, and to avoid contact with corpses. They gave up certain rights or options in order to live at a higher standard. In other words, they practiced the Law of Sacrifice. They did so not to stand in judgment of others, but to discipline themselves against the temptations of the day.

How can today's leaders apply the principle behind the Nazirite vow?

Discipline                                

1. Abstinence from  wine/strong drink

2. Uncut hair

3. Avoid defilement of corpse                    

Application

1.  Self-control: discipline prevents addiction

2.  Image:  refuse to let fashion lead you

3.  Integrity:  stay pure; pursue holy standards

The appointed time

MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPATIENT FOR THEFOLLOWING REASONS: 1. Lack of brotherly love. 2. Spirit of competition. 3. Pride. 4. Stubbornness. The Bible does not want us to be impatient because when God decidesthat it is your time, every thing will cooperate with you. People who are against you will start working for you. Even those who do not like you will become your friends. Please, be aggressive in your prayers.God bless you as you do so, in Jesus’ name. PRAYER POINTS 1. Oh Lord, don’t ever leave me behind. Ever wondered what it will be to wake up and find out there no one around you and you are facing a big screen at the seat of judgement and yet while on Earth you say it a normal thing even my everyone around does it even my spiritual mentors encourages it.
