Essentials Question of the Heart

Have you ever heard him talk about his parents? If so,is he respectful? Would he rather TALK to you than text? Is he respectful toward you around his friends? Would you be okay with him spending time with your dad (or the fatherly figure in your life) when you aren’t around? Would you be okay allowing him to see when your makeup/hair is not done? Does he have a father/mentor figure whom he seeks to model himself after? Does he give you more non-physical compliments than physical compliments? Does he have a job to support himself? Does he handle his money well? Do you have the same beliefs when it comes what matters to you most? Has he met your parents? Have you talked about short term goals? Do your short term goals align? Have you talked about long term goals? Do your long term goals align? Does he stop when you say “stop?” Does he respect your body? Have you had dialogue about what you believe and why? Do you know anything about his past relationships? Does he know anything about

still have joy lyrics (Ron Kenoly)

I've been tested My faith has been tried Satain has attempted to destroy my life He's robbed abused accused and stole He's done everything he could do To conquer my soul I still have joy I still have joy After all I've been through I still have joy Friends have left me They've questioned my faith The good I tried to do Was thrown back in my face The hurt and the pain brought tears to my eyes But God has replaced a blessing For every tear that I've cried I still have peace I still have peace After all I've been through I still have peace I still have His love I still have His love After all I've been through I still have His love After all I've been through After all I've been through I still have joy

I am lyrics Kirk Franklin

"I Am" To the nobodies, to the abandoned Who couldn't see in the pain was a plan Looking back now Lord I can say thank you Now let me tell you who I am How do you do? I am a sinner Born into sin and shaped in iniquity Now I believe not who I was but still not what I shall be You found me and gave me your name and Things I desired have changed but Inside you'll see it's still broken pieces Deep in me reaches for you (hello) How do you do? I am a beggar (that means I'm) Desperate for more I hunger for your truth See I am shattered Though I may fall still you make all things new You speak, the storm, it obeys and gone is the weight of mistakes and Though I still feel you continue to heal, look close, and see (whoa) [Chorus:] I am so far from perfect I thought life was worthless Until you showed me who I am Not here by mistake No luck, only grace I'm on my way to Who I am (not who I was), I am (forgiven and loved) I am (healed by y

NIGERIA'S FIRST ANTHEM

Nigeria's first anthem, written by a British expatriate and was in use until 1978, when the government changed the anthem. I. Nigeria we hail thee, Our own dear native land, Though tribe and tongue may differ, In brotherhood we stand, Nigerians all, and proud to serve Our sovereign Motherland. 2. Our flag shall be a symbol,That truth and justice reign, In peace or battle honour'd, And this we count as gain, To hand on to our children, A banner without stain. 3. O God of all creation, Grant this our one request, Help us to build a nation, Where no man is oppressed, And so with peace and plenty, Nigeria may be blessed.

Leaders and Followers Have Specific Roles (iEQUIP)

"Where the word of a king is, there is power; and who may say to him, "What are you doing?" He who keeps his command will experience nothing harmful; and a wise man's heart discerns both time and judgment . . . All this I have seen, and applied my heart to every work that is done under the sun: There is a time in which one man rules over another to his own hurt."  Ecclesiastes 8:4-5, 9 Solomon makes a point about our relationship to the people who lead us. We are to submit to them, not because the person deserves it, but because the office deserves it and God decrees it. And what about leaders in authority? Solomon also issues a warning. When leaders try to exercise authority without a servant's heart, they eventually hurt themselves. Consider what he says:        Role of the Follower                            Role of the Leader Submit to God-given authority.              Exercise authority with wisdom & caution. Trust God to accomplish His purp

Finding Your Place iEQUIP

". . . being confident of this very thing,  that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."   Philippians 1:6 Right now you may not be in a position to place others on your team. In fact, you may be thinking to yourself, How do I find my own niche? If that's the case, then follow these guidelines: *Be secure - If you allow your insecurities to get the better of you, you'll be inflexible and reluctant to change. And you cannot grow without change. *Get to know yourself - Spend time reflecting and exploring your gifts. Ask for feedback. Do what it takes to remove personal blind spots. *Trust your leader - A good leader will help you to start moving in the right direction. Or get on another team. *See the big picture - Your place on the team only makes sense in the context of the big picture. If your only motivation for finding your niche is personal gain, your poor motives may prevent you from discovering what you desire.

Thank you Lyrics by Nathaniel Bassey and Enitan Adaba

When I think upon your goodness; And Your faithfulness each day I’m convinced it’s not because I am worthy - to receive the kind of love that You give. The Fast Way to Gain Leadership

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."  Proverbs 1:7 Wisdom can be a leader's best friend, especially in times of decision. Suppose you find yourself in a large committee meeting in which a crucial decision must be made. The committee reaches an impasse and everything stops. Who will become the most influential person in that room? Answer: the one with the wisdom to draw a conclusion that not only works, but which receives the blessing of that committee. Proverbs 1 describes wisdom as a woman crying out in the streets. What a beautiful picture! Wisdom does not hide herself, but shouts publicly! We must go out and find her and build a friendship with her: What can we learn about decision making from Proverbs? 1The foundation for every decision is to honor and revere God. 2We must build off of our heritage and conscience: What values are we to embrace? 3We must avoid the counsel of the ungodly. 4We must pu

'Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb'

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? [Chorus:] Are you washed in the blood, In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb? Are your garments spotless are they white as snow? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Lay aside your garments that are stained with sin And be washed in the blood of the Lamb. There's a fountain flowing for the soul unclean. O, be washed in the blood of the Lamb! Lyrics Amazing grace

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now I see. T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear The hour I first believed. Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come; 'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far and Grace will lead me home. The Lord has promised good to me. His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be, As long as life endures. Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess within the veil, A life of joy and peace. When we've been here ten thousand years Bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we've first begun. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.

Spend Minutes Wisely

"Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am. Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is nothing before You; certainly every man at his best state is but vapor."   Psalm 39:4-5 In Psalm 90, David shows his mindfulness of his brief time on earth. He asks God to help him number his days, which ought to be the prayer of every leader. Wise leaders work to redeem the time they have. A leader needs to wonder if the task is worth the time investment. What would happen if the leader wasn't the one doing it? Is there someone else who could do it just as well, and for whom the task would be time better spent? A good leader knows that time is like gold, and good "spending habits" are essential. It's just that in this case the units are minutes, not dollars. If you don't know where your time goes - that's a danger signal. If you can save small bits of time and consolidate them into
