Robert Collier Recipe for success: Study while others are sleeping; work while others are loafing; prepare while others are playing; and dream while others are wishing. William A. Ward A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him. Even those who do not like you will become your friends. Please, be aggressive in your prayers.God bless you as you do so, in Jesus’ name. PRAYER POINTS 1. Oh Lord, don’t ever leave me behind. Let me be going with You all the time, in the name of Jesus. 2. Oh Lord, let me be in the right place at the right time, in the name of Jesus. 3. Oh Lord, restore to me everything Ihave lost through impatience, in the name of Jesus. 4. It is time for You, O Lord, to turn my life to miracles, in the name of Jesus. 5. I refuse to waste my life. Plead your case

MEMORISE: ‘Produce your cause, saith the Lord; bring forth Your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.’ (Isa 41:21) READ: 2 Kings 20:1-7 We serve a wonderful, prayer-answering God. Psalm 65:2 says: ‘Oh thou that heareth prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.’ We are so blessed that we serve the only true and living God. He hears us when wecall upon him. And when he has revealed his intention to judge you, he will still listen to your plea. From our text, God sent the prophet Isaiahto tell King Hezekiah that he was about to die. Hezekiah cried out to God, who prolonged his life by 15 years. But Hezekiah is not the only one who has benefited from God’s magnanimity. Jabez was tired of a life of sorrow since birth. He had only the crumbs of God’s blessing. Sorrow and failure followed him like flies around the tail of a cow. When he could no longer take it, he pleaded his case in Heaven’s Court and ended up being more honourable than anyone around him. You can change your lifetoo. Whe

Nigeria after oil theft

IT is obvious the Nigerian economy is in a precarious situation. It is really nothing new. The only thing that could be new is the momentum of oil theft, which combining with corruption, is drying up resources available to governments. Nigerians do not need a warning fromthe World Bank to know that an economy founded on only one product is doomed. Years of contemplating what to do with the economy has not thrown up solutions that governments are willing to implement. Every government is interested in getting resources it immediately needs for its projects, most of which are short term programmes. A World Bank’s Nigeria Economic Report for May 2013, noted that, “Despite the recovery in oil prices, Nigeria expanded its fiscal stimulus significantly, increasing consolidated spending by an estimated 2.5 per centof Gross Domestic Product, GDP, and drawing down the remaining balance of the Excess Crude Account at the same time that many other oil exporters were building back their reserve

The canons of lending

CAMPARI is how bankers use the Canons of Lending to assess whether they should lend money or not. It stands for: Character – can you trust someone? Have they got a good record, for example of repaying borrowed money previously? Ability – what track record do you have, and how can you demonstrate it? Margin – the least important to the bank believe it or not, but there mustbe something in it for them Purpose – why do they want to borrow the money, and is it structured in a sensible way? Amount – how much do they want, but also how much in total is being spent – how much of the borrowers own money is being put it? Repayment – how will it be repaid and when? How can this be demonstrated? Insurance – what happens if something goes wrong? This may not necessarily mean an insurance policy, but could include providing some security – a Directors’ guarantee is commonplace for small limited companies.
